UTEP STUDENT ID CARD AND VALIDATION STICKER
All students must have ONE identification card issued by UTEP. The initial ID card is free of charge. A current picture ID must be presented when having the University ID made.

New students who have been admitted to the university for the Spring 2000 semester are encouraged to come to the Records Office prior to registration and have the ID card made.

The ID card will be released to you after you have registered. New UTEP ID cards are being issued by the Records Office to replace the orange UTEP ID card. You must be currently enrolled to receive a new ID. To replace your orange UTEP ID card, follow the procedure listed below:

1) Come to the Records Office to replace your ID

2) Turn in your old ID card for a free replacement. If you do not have an old ID, you will be
assessed a $10.00 replacement fee with the Student Business Services Office.

3) Cards five (5) years or older are replaced free.

A validation sticker for the semester will be affixed to ONE ID card by the Records Office anytime after the semester’s tuition and fees have been paid. A validated ID card is required to check out books at the Library and use other campus facilities. A valid ID card will also allow you to receive free or discounted tickets to University functions, such as sporting event, lectures, performances, and movies.

The ID card is the property of the University and must be kept in a working condition. An ID card is expected to last five (5) years and must be validated each semester. If it becomes damaged, lost or stolen, the replacement fee is $10.00. If the ID card is not claimed during the first six weeks of enrollment, the ID card will have to be reissued at your expense.

After graduation, a student is eligible to be refunded their $10.00 Property Deposit Fee. The student must turn in their UTEP ID card to the Bursar’s office for the refund.
