Learning Objectives: Throughout this course, the student will be engaged into effective thinking by way of mathematical concepts. Areas of study will cover counting principles, Fibonacci numbers, property of the integers, real numbers, set theory, correspondences of abstract objects, and geometry. Methods of thinking will be of great importance; these will be techniques for proving statements that will help the student solve mathematical problems.
Required Materials: Text, The Heart of Mathematics by Burger and Starbird 3rd Edition.
