STAT 2480 - Elementary Statistical Methods |
An elementary introduction to probability, common
probability, distributions such as the binomial and
Gaussian distributions, exploratory analysis of data,
hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, contingency table
analysis and chi-square goodness-of-fit, simple linear
regression, one-way ANOVA, and Bonferroni correction for
multiple comparisons. A statistical software package will be
used for analysis of data and simulations to illustrate
concepts. Prerequisites: MATH 1320 or MATH 1508 or
MATH 1411 or TCCN 1314 or an equivalent course, with
a grade of "C" or better.
