Calculus I - Part A (1.333-0)
The course covers a discussion of the applications of
calculus, finite and infinite limits, the relationship
between the derivative and tangent line, basic
differentiation rules and rates of change, product and
quotient differentiation rules, the Chain Rule, implicit
differentiation, and related rates. Students are expected
to learn the material so that they thrive in subsequent
mathematics and science courses for which this material
is required. Prerequisite: MATH 1508A, B, and C or
placement with a grade of C or higher and department
approval. Equivalent course: MATH 2301 with a grade
of C or better.
