Writing About Literature (3-0)
A research and writing course in the analysis and
interpretation of literature, progressing from basic
exegesis of diction and syntax to the broad range of
critical and stylistic approaches to literary works.
Strongly suggested as preparation for junior and senior
level courses in literature. Required of all English majors
in lieu of ENGL 1312. Strongly advised for all ENGL 1312
with department approval. ENGL 1313 fulfills the catalog
requirements for ENGL 1312.
Prerequisite: ENGL 1311 or ENGL 1611.
